Who is Hose 1!

EverReady Hose Company 1, of the Freeport Fire Department, is one of six engine companies, that provide protection through its volunteer support to nearly 60,000 residents and commercial businesses, in the Village of Freeport.
Hose 1 is located in the Southeast quadrant of the Village, but serves the entire community in fighting fires!
Hose 1 provides low lying residents in the south part of town, comfort in assuring them with the use of a Army Truck and other apparatus , which can respond in any flooding situations, continued support, no matter the task.

Congratulations to Second Lieutenant Kenneth Van Cott!

On April 1, 2007, Kenneth Van Cott was elected to the Office of Second Lieutenant, by the members of EverReady Hose Co. 1.
We wish him a safe and prosperous year!

Firefighter Steve Kistela does the right thing!

On February 14, 2006, FireFighter Steve Kastella, Son of X Captain Stanley Kastella, asked for Kristin, his girlfriend of three years to be his wife!
This was not your typical request, but one which was done on the air of WKJY, a local radio station on Long Island!
We all at Hose 1 wish Steve and Kristin, a long life of happiness and health and many children.
The (T Man) as sum of Steve's closest friends call him, will bbe marked for the rest of his life as a nervous sweating man during the aftermath of the blizzard of 2006, as he rode with radio hosts Jim and Kim in a limo to Kristin's job to ask her to marry him!
